Gunther enters his third year as the running backs coach for the Mustangs. He has been with the program since its inception in 2010 as both a player and coach.

A four-year member of the Mustangs, Gunter was a four-year starter on the offensive line and started in 41 consecutive games. A two-time All-Conference honoree, Gunter helped the Mustangs boast 21 100-yard rushers, including three 200-yard rushers.

Gunther helped the Mustangs in 2013 rank second in the conference with fewest sacks allowed. He also help lead the team to its first postseason victory in 2014 with a win in the ECAC Bowl game versus Bethany College (W.V.). 

In 2016, the Mustangs went 9-2 and won the programs first-ever Middle Atlantic Conference title. The team earned its first-ever berth to the NCAA Division III Football Championship. The Mustangs finished the season ranked 20th in the country.

The Mustangs rushed for over 1,300 yards in 2016, averaging 126.2 yards a game. Devonte William's carried the ball 28 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns in a win versus King's (Pa.) to earn MAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades.

Jainard Crawley-Lambert carried the ball 102 times for 516 yards and nine touchdowns in eight games en route to MAC Honorable Mention All-Conference selection.

During the 2015, Gunther's first year on the staff as Running Backs coach, the Mustangs went 9-2 and won the Centennial-MAC Bowl Game Series over Muhlenberg College. The Mustangs rushed for over 1,700 yards and 157.5 yards a game.

Devonte Williams rushed for 298 yards with three touchdowns en route to a school record and MAC Offensive Player of the week honors. He also earned a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week after breaking the school's single game rushing record.

A 2014 graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice, Gunther is currently enrolled at Stevenson to earn his Masters Degree.
